One 60-day voyage around the Land Down Under was terminated following the death of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the ship on a isolated coastal location.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but parted ways from the excursion for a break. The vessel sailed away leaving her and returned after some time after the personnel realised the passenger was missing.

A large-scale hunt located her remains the following day.

Officials are examining the incident, in coordination with police and the medical examiner.

Head of the cruise operator announced that passengers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the rest of the voyage had been called off due to the "sad loss and earlier technical problems".
