Just as the recent storm hit the north-west the previous evening, Manchester City swept United away at the their home ground. It was a convincing three goal win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that clearly signaled their leadership claims as they reinforced their position at the league summit.

Consecutive Losses for United

This scoreline represented consecutive WSL losses for Skinner's side for the first time since spring 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.
