Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Meets with Military Personnel Near Conflict-Stricken Pokrovsk Front

The head of state traveled to address defense personnel in the Donetsk region on Tuesday. The president confirmed that he engaged with fighters at the military base of the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is leading defense efforts in the Dobropillya area, an urban center approximately a short distance from Pokrovsk.

Critical Conditions in the Region

Geospatial data from a local initiative showed that Russian forces had advanced deeper into the city and surrounding areas, though a large portion was not fully held by both forces. The conditions are severe, with accounts indicating that Russian forces were fortifying positions and enhancing fortifications in various sectors.

Russian forces are pushing forward in the Pokrovsk front and are reportedly acting with enhanced confidence within urban Pokrovsk.

Research institutes observed that defense units had liberated a significant portion of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya front, on the east side of the Pokrovsk campaign.

Ukrainian Long-Range Assaults Deep Inside Russia

Ukrainian long-range drones targeted a production facility approximately 1,300km inside Russian territory at Sterlitamak. Regional authorities confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak facility that caused its water treatment facility to suffer damage, adding that the origin of the detonation was undetermined. The armed forces leadership stated there was extensive harm to the complex.

Ukraine's military reported hitting a Lukoil oil refinery at the location in the federal district to the east of the capital. The extent of the damage was currently analyzed. The local official confirmed an attack by multiple unmanned aircraft near the area.

Russian Defense Policy Changes

National guard personnel will now have to protect fuel facilities against aerial attacks after Vladimir Putin signed a law on the start of the week extending their entanglement in the war effort. The head of state also approved legislation authorizing recruitment throughout the year whereas previously it was possible only during limited periods in fall and spring. The federation restricts draftees from being sent to battle, but after their military service they join the reserve forces, putting them at risk of being deployed to conflict.

Significant armed forces costs have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with authorities hiking rates to cover increasing gaps.

Zelenskyy's Appeals for Allied Help

The national leader urged the US to stay receptive to delivering to the nation with long-range weapons. Speaking at an EU meeting from the eastern front, the national leader also called for more international restrictions on the federation – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he wanted Ukraine to join the EU prior to the next decade.

International Assistance and Diplomatic Developments
